Heading into winter 16 and planning for 2017

1st Nov 2016

Sitting here on a cold, wet day with 2016 drawing to a close.. I can reflect that its been a good riding year with plenty of adventures; in all approx 16,000 miles ridden and 10 different countries visited including: Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Spain, Portugal, the IOM and Wales. Time now to settle for the odd winter day trip when its not too cold and the roads are dry…and also a bit of personal maintenance in the form of my 3rd hernia repair!

So its time to plan for a new set of adventures in 2017 🙂 The first two trips are already booked…Thailand and Myanma in Jan/Feb and back to Spain and Portugal in June.

Myanma 2017

This is a great way to break up the long British winter…with sun, riding and new adventures in a far away land

myanma

Out to Chiang Mai, Thailand on 19th Jan, returning 5th Feb17..tour with the guys from Tony’s Big Bikes on a Suzuki Vstrom 650.  Approx 1600 miles

Spain & Portugal in June 17

Bernard and I enjoyed this trip so much in 2016 through Picos d’Europa and Northern Portugal..so we decided to do it again…slightly changed route based on our experience to take in even more of the great roads and scenery.

Other ideas for 2017

I really enjoyed the trip to Romania in 2015 and would like to see more of Eastern Europe, so currently exploring options to go there again in 2017 ….watch this space 🙂
