Back home today..what a journey!!

Saturday 3rd Sept 16

Up at 5am and away to the ferry port by 06:15..bikes everywhere, very full today. The Steam Packet company operate the boat and they have the loading of hundreds of bikes down to a fine art..shame about the piece of rope and rag to cover the seat and tie the bike down though.. We had seats booked so crashed out for the 3 hr crossing. The weather forecast was for rain all the way home and it started raining before we got to Liverpool..180 miles to ride in rain all the way so decided M6, M5 and M40. It was a nasty journey, loads of traffic, roadworks, jams and accidents..rain all the way.

Arrived home in one piece to find that I had a letter from North Wales police!..notice of intended prosecution from the ride up..72mph in a 60 limit. It turned out that all 3 of us got nicked (John, Bernard and Stuart)..camera van. Oh well…

It had been a great week, lucky with the weather, nice hotel, lots of beer and good food and great racing. A real experience and a great adventure. Thanks to Colin for booking it all up.

Can’t wait for the next adventure…Thailand and Burma in Jan/Feb 17 and Spain/Portugal next June already booked!!! Bring it on..watch this space 🙂
