Hello from Thailand

I knew this trip would be an adventure .. started when the taxi didn’t turn up at 08.30 as planned! Phoned him, he was very apologetic alarm hadn’t gone off he said. Finally got to LHR 30mins late…
Good flight. But no sleep..arrived BKK at 05:30. Sunday morning. Taxi to Pattaya arrived there 08:30…thankfully hotel let us check in early 🙂
It is HOT here, high 30’s.. So straight down to beach for cold beer

Met up with our guides Duncan and Alan from Chiang Mai…lots more beer and then dinner…we all had lobster at table overlooking the sea…this part feels like a holiday 🙂 then more beer followed by 8 hours good sleep!
Felt much better next day, Monday. Spent the day exploring Pattaya, which is full of people charging round on scooters, having a beer and getting propositioned by Ladyboys…! Decided on relatively early night to get ready for 7am start on the bikes on Tuesday morning.

We  managed to leave on time but with no breakfast..which doesn’t start till 8 🙁 The plan was to get the miles done before it got too hot. We covered 360kms by 1pm and decided to stop just a short way from Cambodian border on The Gulf of Thailand. So here I am at an hotel called “Meet the Sea” which is in a very quiet place right on the beach. Had a dip and then went exploring some of the small fishing villages nearby. Still seems like a holiday at the moment.

That will change tomorrow I’m sure when we try to cross Cambodian border… Apparently it all depends what side of the bed the immigration officer got out of!
